QMS/Cabo Verde: 26 national experts trained in ISO 9001: 2015

In Cabo Verde, a three-day training session was held from 5 to 7 June 2018 for the benefit of 26 Cabo Verde national experts. The works were opened by the National Focal Point (NFP) of the West Africa Quality System Programme (WAQSP) with the effective presence of the Head of Programs of the European Union, Ms. Ana Sofia Silva and the Coordinator of UNIDO at the country level, Mr. Rui Levy.

The purpose of the training was to equip these national experts to develop capabilities in quality management system, and to increase the number of local skills in terms of requirements of the standard ISO 9001 version 2015.

At the opening of the session and after the welcome of the National Technical Coordinator (NTC) of the WAQSP, Ms. Joana Flor, the Focal Point, Mr. Lopes, thanked the European Union for the financial partnership that enabled the Cabo Verde through the WAQSP financed by its institution to the tune of 12 000 000 Euros, to improve itself in terms of quality policy. The UNIDO Coordinator, Mr. Rui Levy, said that the activity held by his institution which implements the Programme, aims to further strengthen the auditors who contributed to the organization of the first edition of the National quality Prize in Cabo Verde. The training was conducted by the expert, Ms. Carlota Santos. She equipped participants on the specificities of the standard ISO 9001 version 2015, the requirements related to this standard and its involvement in the quality management system.

At the end of the three-day training, the NTC and NFP of the WAQSP, the Coordinator of UNIDO and the trainer proceeded to the delivery of certificates to the participants.
