QMS / Niger: Twenty national experts trained in the requirements of ISO 9001 v 2015

As part of the implementation of the WAQSP, Niger hosted the training workshop for national experts on the requirements of the ISO 9001 version 2015. The work took place from June 25 to 27, 2018, at the Academy of martial arts of Niamey, under the guidance of the trainer, Mr. Douma Adamou, Consultant in quality management recruited by the WAQSP.

The objective is to strengthen the critical mass of national experts in quality management system so that they develop their skills and competences in the field to better support the economic structures of Niger.

Addressing the participants at the opening of the works, the national technical coordinator of the WAQSP / Niger, Mr. Abdoulaye Boubacar, recalled the need of a good quality management system in organizations and companies that, according to him, is based on seven (07) principles. These principles, to believe him, aim at enabling ECOWAS member countries to better meet the criteria of standardization. These are: staff involvement, client orientation, leadership, decision making, process approach, improvement and management with stakeholder relations. "Today, the trend is towards a management system that must take into account not only quality, safety and health at work, but also and above all the environment ", said the NTC of the WAQSP/Niger. For three days, the participants were strengthened on the concept of Quality and Quality Infrastructure, the history of standards, issues of the ISO 9001 version 2015 and the structural differences between several standards.

After the theoretical training, a practical session ended the workshop.
