Use of digitalization in conformity assessment and accreditation activities in Francophone West Africa

Francophone members of the Community Committee for Conformity Assessment (ECOCONF), the Community Committee for Technical Regulation (ECOREG), the Community Committee for Metrology
(ECOMET), and the ECOWAS Regional Accreditation System (ECORAS) participated on February 9, 2022 in a STDF/WTO webinar consultation on the use of digitalization in conformity assessment and accreditation activities in Francophone West Africa.

The workshop was organized as part of a study on digitization and "voluntary food quality control in West Africa" funded by the STDF/WTO (STDF/PPG/770). The study aimed at analyzing the existing digital capacities, challenges and opportunities in the region to carry out conformity assessment and accreditation activities in this area.
Given the increasing importance of digitalization in the field of quality infrastructure in general and conformity assessment/accreditation in particular, members of the above mentioned ECOWAS Quality Committees were invited to attend.
The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Rassoulou DIALLO, an international expert in Quality Infrastructure recruited by the STDF.
